Born in 1933 in Delouze, Lorraine, France, Gabriel Godard is a self-taught artist. He began painting at the age of 17, starting with figurative pieces. Since 1986, his work has become abstract and characterized by bright color and simple structure. Godard specializes in lithography, drawing, oil painting and watercolor. His artworks are part of different private collections that can be found all over the world: France, US, Germany, UK, Japan, Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil, Russia and so on; public collections including Pompidou Center and Musée d’art moderne de Paris. Recent exhibitions: 2012 La Salon d’Automne, Paris, France; 2016 Mirror, Chapelle des Ursulines, Ancenis, France; 2018 Musée Bernard Boesch, Le Pouliguen.
