CHOI Chor-foo (CAI Chu-fu) 蔡楚夫
Chinese 1942
Born in Wuchao, Guangxi, China, 1942. Choi Chor-foo studied at the Fine Arts Institude of Guangzhou in 1959 where he developed a solid foundation in sketching and color theory, allowing for his later diversity. In the 1960s, he exhibited his work at the National China Art Gallery in Bejing and at the One Hundred Years of Chinese Paintings exhibition at the Palace Museum in Xunyung. In the 1970s, he went to Hong Kong and was introduced by Lee Go-min (the famous artist of the Lingnan Art School) to the great Chinese master Young Sing Sam (1913-2004). Later, Choi studied under Ding Yanyong (1902-1978) in order to learn more about tradtional Chinese painting techniques. He presently lives and works in the USA. His paintings have been collected by China Art Gallery Beijing and large American corporations.
