Born in 1970 in Tokyo, Japan. Showichi Kaneda graduated from the Facutly of Fine Arts, Kyoto City Universitiy of Arts and won the Mayor Prize of Kyoto City University of Arts Graduate Exhibition in 1993. In 1994, he studied in Royal College of Arts London as an exchanging student, and completed the master program of Kyoto City University of Arts in 1995.
