LIANG CHANG MING 梁震明
Taiwanese 1971
Born in 1971 in Gangshan, Kaohsiung, and graduated from the Creative Arts Research Institute at Taipei National University of the Arts in 2001. Currently teaches in the Department of Art History at Tainan National University of the Arts. He has spent many years researching the properties of ink paintings and has collected inks from Suzhou, Shanghai and Hangzhou; he is able to differentiate between ‘ink’ and ‘black’ and can unearth the true blacks, and considers the interaction between materials and creation in his work. Liang has published three collections of his work and two non-fiction books: "The True Face of Black" and "Research into the Dragon Pillars of Taiwan’s Temples and Shrines".
