HOO Mojong 賀慕群
Chinese-French 1924
Family original from Ningbo, Zhejiang, Hoo Mojong was born in Shanghai in 1924, latter migrated Taiwan, Spain and Brazil. She has not entered the regular fine art institutes, but already devoted to the drawing creations, and participated in many art exhibitions, and won extremely high appraisal and the prestige from Brazilian St. Paul art scene. In 1965 Hoo went to the France, from this time on lived in Paris and creates for 37 years. Initial days in Paris, Hoo goes arrives the La Grand Chaumière to study drawing and oil painting everyday, practiced on the extremely solid basic skills, and finally received the laurel crown from the "female painter Shalon exhibition" in 1968. Hereafter, Hoo received invitations one after another from various countries in Europe to participate exhibitions, accumulated extremely high artistic prestige, and critics consider her as the best Chinese female painter since Pan Yu-liang. She returned to her homeland in 1996, she has held several exhibitions in Shanghai, and initiates her life between Paris and Shanghai.
