Born in Taipei in 1970, Ho Huey-Chih received her BFA from the Department of Fine Arts at Chinese Culture University in 1994 and her MFA in Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 1997. From 1997 to 1998, she served as a visiting lecturer at Massachusetts College of Art. After returning to Taiwan, she taught at HungKuo Delin University of Technology and various community colleges. She currently teaches in the Bachelor Degree Program of Art and Cultural Creation at Fu Jen Catholic University, the Academy of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students at National Taiwan Normal University, and Banqiao Community College.

Working primarily in oil painting, Ho is known for her meticulous realist depictions of still lifes, glass vessels, and everyday objects. Through her sensitive handling of light, transparency, and layered colour, she creates serene and intricately rendered pictorial spaces. In recent years, her practice has incorporated religious faith, biblical references, and species native to Taiwan, combining figurative realism with symbolic imagery to expand the narrative and spiritual dimensions of still-life painting.

Ho received First Prize in the Oil Painting category at the 17th Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition in 2012, the Gold Medal in Oil Painting at the National Art Exhibition in 2014, the Gold Medal at the 40th National Oil Painting Exhibition in 2016, the Jury Prize at the 43rd National Oil Painting Exhibition in 2019, and the Taoyuan Fine Arts Award in Oil Painting at the 2024 Taoyuan Fine Arts Exhibition. She received grants from Taiwan’s National Culture and Arts Foundation in 2000, 2006, and 2013. She was awarded a residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 2013 and participated in the Artist Residency Program of the Sam & Adele Golden Foundation for the Arts in 2017. Her works have been exhibited in Taiwan, the United States, China, and Singapore, and are held in public, corporate, and private collections.
