LIN Dachuan 林達川
Chinese 1912-1985
Born in the Xinhui County, Guangdong Province in 1912, when he was young he attended National Hangzhou Art College. In 1932 he went to Japan to study abroad, and learned from Ryuzaburo Umehara and Yasui Sotaro. Graduated from the National Art College in Japan, and advanced into the Japan art scene since then, and joined the Japanese artist alliance, his works participated in Japan fine arts exhibitions many times. Beginning 1953, when new China established, his resolutely returned to homeland with his family, and taught in Zhejiang Fine Arts Institute. He continuously devotes to the oil painting art exploration, during his lifetime he created nearly thousand oil paintings, part of his works are collected by the Chinese art museum, the place museum and the overseas art development facilities. His works emphasize on the performance inside the picture, with relaxed brush techniques, modeling freely, rich colors, brims with freshness, happy, natural breath; vivid with the brush, wipes spreads at will, is similar to the ink and water paintings.
