JIN Chin-Bo 金勤伯
Taiwanese 1910-1998

Jin Qinbo was born in Zhejiang in 1910 and was grown up in Shanghai and Beijing. He followed Jin Cheng and Jin Zhang at his early art education and travelled to Taiwan in 1948. He excelled in Flower-and-Bird, Landscape and Figure paintings and specialized in academic style of Song Flower-and-Bird paintings. His works captured the essence of such traditional academic paintings and achieved the nearly lost method of filling colours. In the 1960s, he was a prominent figure in defending traditional ink paintings, and was acclaimed as an important post-war advocator of Taiwan academic flower-and-bird paintings.
