Takumi Sugiyama, was born in Shizuoka prefecture in 1983. He is a popular Japanese artist of the new generation. Sugiyama has received the 141st Genkosha “The Choice” nomination in 2005, and “The Seiichi Suzuki Award” in the Vol.26 HB File Competition in 2016. He is well known for his painting created for the cover of the book "Listen to the Universe," the award-winning book of the 156th Naoki Prize written by Riku Onda in 2016. Most of his works depict landscapes and animals in nature, with soft and rich colors, and through abstract composition, they show natural energy and sound, and convey vigorous vitality. Until 2021, Sugiyama has held numerous sole exhibitions, “Lesson 0” (2015) and “Hit the color” (2016) in HB Gallery, Tokyo; “Real Face” (2018) in Café Gallery Quo Vadis, Tokyo; “Sundust” (2019) in Uresica, Tokyo; “It Is Small and Overflowing” (2020) in Jalona, Tokyo; “Listen to the Universe” (2021) in Uspace, Taipei.
