Jonathan Chapline was born in Savannah, GA, USA in 1987 and grew up in Waco, TX. In 2009, he went to Rome, Italy to participate in the European Honors Program of the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2010, he received a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Painting, RISD. Chapline is an artist who specializes in both computer graphics and traditional graphics. He reprocessed the "rendering" (used to simulate reality) in computer graphics, adjusted the shape, perspective, surface texture, light source and shadows, etc., to reproduce an "unreal" and "fantasy" real world.



He has participated in Untitled Art in Miami, Sunday Art Fair in London, Art Brussels, and VOLTA Art Fair in Basel. His solo exhibitions include: "House work" (Victori + Mo, New York, 2017), "Material Memory" (The Hole, New York, 2018), "Hunter Gatherer" (NANZUKA UNDERGROUND, Tokyo, 2020), "Virtual Window" "(Library Street Collective, Detroit, 2020), "Statuesque" (NANZUKA 2G, Tokyo, 2021), "Private Domain" (3110NZ, Tokyo, 2021), etc. His artworks have been selected by X Museum, Beijing, Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA), and other public institutions.
