Tsukamoto was born in Kanazawa City, Japan. He graduated from the Department of oil painting of Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 2005, and received a MFA from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 2007. Combining the aesthetic of traditional Japanese art and the pointillism of Impressionist artists, Tsukamoto is an emerging Japanese young talent.
