Born in Nantou, Taiwan. He is an apprentice to an admirable wooden sculpture master,SHIH Cheng-young, who once acquried the National Craft Achievement Award. SHIH Hui-min develops his art from the traditional wooden craft to the delicate art works which implies the deepth of Chinese traditional culture. He merges the wooden sculpture skill, tenon-and-mortise and his comentance on wooden craving with the classical patterns and creates the inextricable, exquisite wooden sculptures.
