Born in Tongcheng, Anhui, Wang Zhong was considered as a prominent classical poet and calligrapher in modern Taiwan. He was a student of Pan Zhong-Gui, later followed Pu Hsin-Yu in his studies in literature. Liu Tai-Hsi, Chuang Yen, Tai Jing-Nong and Chiang Chao-Shen were among his close acquaintances in their research on literature. His career was largely based on Chinese literature education, as he taught in the Chinese faculty of the National Taiwan Normal University, National Taiwan University, Tunghai University, Fu Jen Catholic University, Chinese Culture University. He also travelled overseas to Korea and Hong Kong for academic lectures.
